How to convert tables to images in Microsoft Word

[ad_1]
When you spend time creating, formatting, and adding data to a table, you don’t want changes like font and size. You can convert a table to an image in Microsoft Word to prevent changes, or share it instead of sending the entire document.
You can convert the table to an image and keep both in your document for your reference. Or, you can replace the original board with an image if you want. One thing to note is that you cannot edit the table after converting it to an image.
Copy or cut the table
Start by selecting the entire table. You do this by clicking anywhere in the table to bring up the table handle at the top left. Then click the board handle to highlight the entire board.

Right-click and select “Cut” or “Copy” in the shortcut menu. If you want to delete the original table and keep only the image, you can select “Cut”. But if you want to keep both, select “Copy”.

Paste Special as a photo
With the table on the clipboard, you will use the Paste Special tool in Microsoft Word to create the image.
Place your cursor in the document where you want the image. Then do one of the following:
- Right-click and select the Image icon under Paste Options.
- Go to the Home tab, select the Paste drop-down arrow, and select the Image icon.
- Go to the Home tab, select the Paste drop-down arrow and select “Paste Special”. Select “Picture” in the As box and click “OK”.

You should then see your table appear in your document as an image. From there, you can format it like any other picture in Microsoft Word.
Select an image and use the Picture Format tab for quick edits like adding a border. You can also click the Layout Options icon at the top right of the image to wrap the text around.

Save images for use outside of Word
If you want to send an image in an email or share it in a chat application, you can save the image for use outside of Microsoft Word.
Right click on the table image and select “Save as Picture”.

Then just choose a location, give the file a name, choose the file type, and click “Save.”
